GVSU's proposed Health Professions project was given a green light this week by the Michigan House of Representatives with its approval late Thursday. The project moves next to the Senate, with the university hoping for approval next week. If that happens, GVSU will be authorized to begin facility planning and program statement activities.
This year, for the first time, the capital outlay subcommittee used a ranking system to prioritize university projects, said Vice President Matt McLogan. We should take pride in the fact that GVSU was ranked #1. We will be ready to commence our planning activities as soon as the authorizations permit, McLogan concluded.
The facilities, in Grand Rapids, will be designed to serve nursing, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other health professions programs.
