The event is one of the most anticipated events that You Beautiful Black Woman has hosted annually, every fall semester, bringing creativity, fun, and recognition of Black culture, serving one of the main purposes of this organization: unity amongst African-American women. This event highlights black hair culture on campus, bringing support and appreciation to the student entrepreneurs at Grand Valley State University who specialize in black hair styling and dedicate their time outside of their academics to serving their peers.
