GVSU, Michigan, and U.S. flags will fly at half-staff today, Thursday, October 14, 2021, to honor the life and service of Army Sgt. William E. Cavender. Army Sgt. Cavender's remains were found and identified nearly 70 years after his unit was attacked near the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War.
