Decisions of the US Supreme Court may receive a great deal of our attention, but State Supreme Court decisions shape our everyday lives in important ways. In Michigan, the state Supreme Court serves as an increasingly important bulwark of the people's rights hearing cases on the environment, election redistricting and poll watching, school funding, abortion access, and LGBTQ rights, to name just a few. Join us to find out more about the vital role played by the Michigan State Supreme Court from State Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Welch. Hosted by the Political Science Department and the Human Rights Minor. Co-sponsored by the William Barum Fund, Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society and the GVSU Law Society.
