Alumni, Community, Faculty, Staff, Students
On Trans Day of Remembrance, we come together to mourn and honor
those lost to transphobic violence over the past year.
This event will be hosted by Grand Rapids Pride Center, Grand
Rapids Trans Foundation, and GVSU’s Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource
Center, and will feature a vigil and reading of names of those we have
lost this past year, as well as a short program featuring guest
speakers and musicians from the local Trans community. Emotional and
mental health resources and space will be available, and light
refreshments will be provided. Please be mindful of our guests who
have scent sensitivities by refraining from wearing scents. Accessible
parking is available in the Fulton Lot at Fulton and Mt. Vernon, which
is underneath US-131 and directly under the Laker Line bus stop. There
will be ASL interpretation for this event.
There will be a GVSU student-led newspaper in attendance. No
photos will be taken, and attendees can give statements if desired
(with explicit consent).
