Thinking Globally: Night of the Dead

We will be conviviating about expressions relating to death and the afterlife, in different languages, times, and places. Do people “pass on” or remain “six feet under”? If they pass on, do they go “upstairs” or “downstairs”? What might it mean when Plato’s Socrates exhorts one “to practice dying and being dead”?
