Join Grand Valley’s Chair of Classics, Dr. Melissa Morison, and fellow Lakers for a conversation about statues and other monuments in public spaces. Professor Morison will draw on her archaeological field experiences to lead a discussion of ways that public monuments evoked emotion and shaped civic identity in ancient Rome. We’ll then think together about how we might best engage in productive discourse about the power and purpose of statues in our own public spaces.

Digital Dialogues begin with a brief presentation followed by a group discussion. Registration is free but limited to 20 participants. So sign up now!
