Seeing Red with Ebony Stewart

In Seeing Red, Ebony Stewart ties in aspects of generational trauma learned through relationships with the foresight of healing through poetry, discussion, and storytelling. This presentation is specifically tailored to address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and gives voice to the victims and survivors as a holistic approach.

The GVSU Center for Women and Gender Equity strives to create meaningful learning about women and gender and to advocate for gender justice through the education, engagement, and empowerment of women students and the greater GVSU community. Located in Kirkhof Center (down the hallway near the Lobby Shop), there are numerous ways to get involved with the Womens Center, including: 1. Attending one of our events. With almost 100 events each year, there are many opportunities to learn more about issues that affect women and gender justice. 2. Resources and Support. Check out our resources, including our Student Food Pantry, NIARA mentoring program, and Scholarship Opportunities. 3. Service, Leadership, and Activism. Whether youre interested in our Ambassadors Feminist Leadership Program, our Activate Service Learning Program, or an internship with the Womens Center, there are lots of ways to engage and bring classroom material to life. 4. Our physical space. Open to everyone, people use our Center to study, read our collection of books and magazines, or just relax between classes. From our comfy chairs and couches to the warm fireplace, we invite you to stop by the Center to check us out in person!
