Albert James and Kyler Gilbert will share how disagreement is inevitable; damage is not, examining when and how family therapy adds value
The SPGC Conversation Series will be co hosted with our affiliate, the Family Owned Business Institute at the Seidman College of Business, Grand Valley State University, USA.
Join us for an interactive webinar featuring Kyler Gilbert, second generation leader at BCR with extensive consulting experience, and Albert James, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University. Drawing on research insights and advisory practice, the session examines when and how family therapy adds value in family businesses. Using a family systems perspective, the discussion explores how recurring dynamics, role ambiguity, and unresolved family history often emerge as families prepare the next generation for ownership and leadership.
Grounded in research evidence and real world experience, the speakers will highlight early signals of escalation and share practical approaches for addressing disagreement constructively, particularly in situations where family therapy offers tools beyond those provided by governance and traditional advisory structures alone.
This session is open and free to attend and will consist of a 45 minute conversation followed by a live question and answer session, moderated by Ana Gonzalez.
We look forward to welcoming you to this engaging and insightful conversation.
