Come join the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia for a fun night of Super Smash Brothers and a Dessert! This event is part of our fall rush and is open to all GV students! Attending the event does not require you to rush the fraternity, as we just want to have a fun time and give people a chance to meet the brothers. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Haas Center For the Performing Arts in room 1410.

If you love music and are looking for friends who share a passion for musical performance & the advancement of music in America, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the place for you! We are the oldest and largest music fraternity in the nation dedicated to building brothers in song and serving the community.

The object of this fraternity shall be the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.

This organization is perfect for male-identifying students who are interested in performing music, regardless of major, musical talent or ability. Though our fraternal bonds are built around vocals, we accept musicians and instruments of all types. Our brotherhood is built on a shared set of upright principles, dedicated to fostering good hearted men of music.

The Rho Xi chapter of PMA will soon be announcing our Winter Rush Events! All are welcomed to attend as coming to rush events does not mean youre required to rush. As brothers we love to engage in social activities including board games, karaoke, video games (such as Super Smash Bros and Jackbox), watching bad movies and music movies, trivia, playing capture the flag, Dungeons and Dragons, going out for pizza, and more! Rush Events will be located in the Haas Center For Performing Arts.

In addition PMA is excellent for those pursuing musical education and performance as the fraternity has an incredible brother network of current educators and performers across Michigan and the nation! Its also a great opportunity to carry out leadership roles and get involved in services to the community, such as volunteering at music competitions, cleaning up pumpkins around campus, or singing for retirement home residents.

Famous brothers include actor JK Simmons, tv host Fred Rogers, and musician Ben Folds!

Sinfonia was born on October 6, 1898, at the New England Conservatory in Boston, when a group of thirteen young men under the guidance of Ossian Everett Mills "to consider the social life of the young men students of that institution [and] to devise ways and means by which it might be improved." Sinfonia became a national fraternity on October 6, 1900, with the admission of a group of men at the Broad Street Conservatory in Philadelphia. For over a century, Sinfonians in nearly every field of study and professional endeavor have transformed music in America. The opportunity of becoming a Sinfonian is offered to as many men as possible who, through a love for music, can assist in the fulfillment of the Fraternitys Object and ideals either by adopting music as a profession, or by working to advance the cause of music in America. The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.
