Professor Reynolds-Stenson will discuss her recent book, "Cultures of Resistance." She will be visiting as a CLAS Distinguished Alumna-in-Residence. A description of her talk appears below:

Cultures of Resistance brings new insight to a key question: Do government efforts to repress social movements effectively repress dissent or do they spur mobilization? Through analyses of activists' experiences of repression and resistance, Heidi Reynolds-Stenson uncovers processes that shape how individuals understand the risks of participating in collective action and demonstrates how individual rationality is collectively constructed.

This event is free and open to the public
