Outdoor Adventures Meetup #2 - Pigeon Creek

The Outdoor Adventures (OA) Hangout is a bi-weekly (every other week) social gathering for students who enjoy outdoor and adventure-based activities. It's organized by the Recreation & Wellness Outdoor Adventures program as an opportunity to connect outdoorsy students with one another through local exploration and informal activities. The meetup locations and activities are expected to vary each time. Registration won't normally be necessary unless we have limited resources for the activity or for whatever reason need a headcount.

About This Event

Sunday, February 6, 5pm - 8pm; Cross Country Skiing at Pigeon Creek.
Join us in exploring one of the best loved Ottawa County parks. Pigeon Creek offers a variety of winter activities on its trails which are groomed and lighted. This one does have a small fee for the cross country ski rentals ($8) but we can provide snowshoes at no charge if preferred. Limited transportation will be provided by OA on a first-come first-served basis for those that need it. Students are otherwise responsible for getting themselves to/from Pigeon Creek. All rental gear at Pigeon Creek is on a first-come, first served basis so there are no guarantees equipment will be available when we arrive. Hiking is not allowed on their trails once winter activities have begun. For additional amenities and rules, please visit the Pigeon Creek website.

Plan to meet near the Pigeon Creek lodge around 4:50 and we'll shoot to be on the trails close to 5:15pm. If you will be riding with us, additional instructions will be sent to you in the RSVP confirmation.

RSVP is requested for this event so we have an idea of transportation/ gear needs and to communicate important updates.

Sunday, March 6, Spring Break!
While not technically planned as a "hangout", we hope you'll consider joining us for one of our two SB offerings. We'll be heading to northern Alabama for a hiking/ camping trip and to northwest Arkansas for a rock climbing trip.
