Digital Dialogues

Join Dr. Lisa Perhamus and fellow Lakers for a discussion-based session focused on having difficult conversations about complicated issues. As we are in the middle of a pandemic, racial uprisings, economic uncertainty, changing immigration policies, and an especially divisive presidential election, this session will provide an opportunity to talk about how we can best prepare for the tough questions, impassioned opinions, and emotional discussions that are likely to fill our lives and schools this year. We will soon be faced with making a number of on-the-spot “conversation decisions” that are complicated by the angst, fear, and differing visions for the hope of this history-making moment. We will discuss ways to facilitate constructive yet authentic conversations; how to handle conversations that seem stuck; how to re-focus a conversation that has gone off track; and the role of conversation in fostering equity and inclusion.

Digital Dialogues begin with a brief presentation followed by a group discussion. Registration is free, but limited to 20 participants. So sign up now!
