Are you interested in studying abroad on the GVSU Namibia program? Join us for this upcoming info session! 

About the program: Windhoek, Namibia: Join us on this adventure through Namibia! Explore the fascinating diversity of Africa’s ecosystems, wildlife, cultures and complex history through field trips, desert camping, lectures and discussion. Field trips include a safari, a Cheetah Conservation, the Red Sand Dunes of Soussusvlei and more.

Program Highlights: 

  • Tour of historic sites in the city of Windhoek, visit Katutura, open air market, Independence Memorial  Museum and Namibia Genocide Memorials
  • Travel to Damaraland, track desert elephants, and visit African villages 
  • Visit a Cheetah Conservation and wildlife management education center 
  • Visit Etosha National Park (one of the greatest game parks in Africa), Safari tour to learn about ecotourism and community wildlife conservation
  • Travel to the Sand Dunes of Soussusvlei, Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft
  • Optional adventure excursions include dune surfing, sea kayaking and whale watching
  • Desert camping with tour guide and chef
  • Service learning in local school and orphanage
