Mélodies: An Evening of French Song, Music and Poetry

Mélodies is a night where students, faculty, staff, and community members can express themselves through French song and/or poetry. If you would like to participate, please talk to Professor Collignon or Professor Cata (email or office hours). You must have a short bio about yourself and the English translation of your presentation. Submissions are due October 15th by 5pm!!

If you would not like to participate, you are still encouraged to come and support the French community and your classmates on this wonderful evening.

Our student organization strives to educate and inform the student community of Grand Valley State University about Francophone culture from around the world. Through our cultural events as well as those of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, such as the Tournées Film Festival, Mélodies: An evening of French Song, Music and Poetry, the annual Fête de la Francophonie, baking and cooking workshops and many other fun activities, we hope to spread not only our knowledge of the importance of the cultures from around the French-speaking world, but also all the reasons why we love it so much. Our club is open to all, from those who simply wish to travel to Paris one day to others who are actual French citizens "de souche". Please take note that members DO NOT need to speak French. However, some cultural activities will inevitably be conducted in French.
