On August 22, 2025, from noon to 3 p.m., we're hosting Ride the Laker Line as part of the Laker Welcome Week festivities. This event aims to introduce incoming Lakers to the efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of utilizing the Laker Line and The Rapid bus system as an alternative to driving to campus. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to explore downtown Grand Rapids via a self-guided tour and map, discover local landmarks and businesses, and familiarize themselves with the City Campus. To sweeten the deal, GVSU Transportation Services will be providing complimentary frozen treats and free swag to students who journey from the Valley campus to the City Campus via the Laker Line.
