Intro to Backpacking - Manistee River Trail

Join us for an overnight introduction to backpacking trip at the Manistee River Trail. No experience necessary, just a love for the outdoors. On this introductory trip, we'll hike approximately 22 miles over 2.5 days on the rolling terrain that overlooks the Manistee River and across a section of the North Country Trail. This provides the opportunity to log a few miles each day but also time to ease into a few important outdoor skills such as collecting water, cooking, fire building while taking a few moments to enjoy some great views.

Dates: Saturday, October 18th through Monday, October 20th
Cost: $40
Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: Friday, October 17th at 5pm (Ravines Center)

We have gear you can borrow and we will provide breakfasts & dinners while on the trail.

Cancellations, Contingency, Refund Plans

Due to the nature of Outdoor Adventures programs and our commitment to risk management; trip activities, itineraries, and locations may be adjusted to ensure the best experience for participants. Outdoor Adventures reserves the right to cancel or postpone trips due to factors including but not limited to low registration and inclement weather.

If Outdoor Adventures cancels or postpones a trip, participants will receive a full refund. However, if significant changes to the trip occur after departure due to circumstances beyond our control, participants may be eligible for but are not guaranteed a partial refund, depending on the non-refundable expenses incurred by Outdoor Adventures.
