Area & Global Studies is hosting Global Horizons Week to engage students with our interconnected world.

We are kicking things off Monday, November 13, with an international film and snacks!

The Nile Hilton Incident (2017, dir. Tarik Saleh) is an award-winning true crime thriller set in Egypt just prior to the 25 January Revolution (part of the Arab Spring movement). As Egypt's youth foment protests against police brutality and government corruption, cynical police detective Noredin must solve the brutal murder of a Lesbanese pop star with connections to shady politician.

Inspired by the 2008 murder of pop star Suzanne Tamim, The Nile Hilton Incident won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, along with winning Best Picture and Best Actor at Sweden's prestigious Guldbagge Awards.
