While some progress has been made towards language access and language justice in healthcare, there is still much work to be done. Cultural competency is imperative. Explore how medical humanities enrich our understanding of patients’ lived experiences and diverse backgrounds. This field offers powerful insights into the human conditions of illness and suffering, and emphasizes our responsibilities to both ourselves and our patients (Batistatou et al., 2010). In this interactive session, we’ll discuss how ethical care means equitable care, and how the pursuit of language justice is crucial for achieving this goal. One effective approach to understanding language justice is through storytelling. This method allows us to explore important issues from various perspectives, enriching our comprehension and fostering deeper connections.
