This live virtual training takes place over three (3) days to provide you with six (6) hours of valuable content that attendees would receive from one of our full-day, in-person sessions. Join us during these live virtual sessions on April 13, 14, & 15 from 9-11 am each day to learn the Fundamentals of HS Classification.
Understanding how to classify products under the Harmonized System (HS) is essential in keeping the global supply chain moving. HS classification is an important component in both, export declaration for export shipments and the customs entry for import shipments. The HS classification is central to determining both export eligibility and import duty rates and taxes. The correct HS classification is also key to determining if products qualify for preferential tariff treatment under the many free trade agreements.
Topics Covered:
- Understanding and applying the General Rules of Interpretation (GRI)
- Utilizing section notes, chapter notes, headings, and subheadings
- Classifying parts and kits
- Utilizing classification tools such as explanatory notes and binding rulings
- Managing HS classification data
The sessions deliver six hours of virtual Fundamentals of Harmonized Schedule Classification training over three days as follows and will include digital resources to assist in learning the material and as a future reference for your business:
- Session One: Tuesday, April 13th | 9:00 to 11:00 AM EST
- Session Two: Wednesday, April 14th | 9:00 to 11:00 AM EST
- Session Three: Thursday, April 15th | 9:00 to 11:00 AM EST
