Kristian Grant is a Grand Rapids native and a GRPS graduate who has invested in education and community here for over 10 years. After graduating from GRPS’s New Century Montessori in 2005 she went on to attend the James Madison Honors College at Michigan State University studying Social Relations & Policy. These studies taught her the value of policymaking and motivated her to return to her hometown and be a voice for her community through policy implementation.
As a young professional Kristian has been dedicated to organizations and projects that equip and empower community members through education and business. This work is demonstrated through her service on boards and committees such as the Equitable Economic Development & Mobility Strategic Plan Committee for the City of Grand Rapids, the Calder Plaza Steering Committee with Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., and the advisory board for GRAAHI. Kristian's professional experience includes owning/operating a women's clothing store Sydney's Boutique in Eastown for five years; managing Schools of Hope, a reading program for students; and currently serving as Donor Development Manager for ArtPrize.
Kristian is passionate about exposing students to diverse opportunities and real life experiences that will prepare them for their futures. She is proud to be a part of all the hard work the district is putting in to help prepare students to be 21st century students. Kristian has one daughter who is a 9th grade student in GRPS.
