Connecting With A Faculty Mentor
Wednesday, February 4, 2026
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Allendale Campus
Faculty, Students
Building strong connections with faculty is an essential step in getting involved in undergraduate research, but knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. This hands-on workshop gives students practical guidance on how to approach potential mentors with confidence and professionalism.
Participants will learn how to craft effective outreach emails, communicate their interests clearly, and prepare for productive introductory meetings. Through examples, discussion, and practice, students will leave with the tools they need to begin meaningful conversations with faculty and take the next step in their research journey.
Facilitated by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS).
