Today (October 23rd), we'll be having a meeting with Dr. Fredericks who will be conducting a video game development workshop using p5js, a library for Javascript that provides tools to help draw things to the screen. Specifically, he'll be going over a software architectural pattern called Entity Component System (ECS), that is commonly used in video game creation to help represent the different game objects like NPCs, items, and enemies. Later in November, we'll be hosting a game jam (an event where participants create a video game in a span of time), so this meeting could help with how you go about designing your own game! =Ì Meeting Information: Topic: Entity Component System using p5js with Dr. Fredericks Where: MAK A-1-105 (Mackinac Hall, Allendale/Valley Campus) When: Today, Thursday, October 23, 6:00-7:00 p.m. **Before Todays Meeting** Dr. Fredericks also noted some work to do before the meeting to get you prepared: Sign up for a p5js account: https://editor.p5js.org/ Download a sprite pack: (Heres the one hell be using in the demo) https://kenney.nl/assets/micro-roguelike (If using a sprite pack, make sure it has a packed version with no spacing between sprites).
