Power is central to the concept of citizenship, yet Americans feel increasingly powerless in the face of a dysfunctional political system, diminishing economic opportunities, and countless cultural and social challenges. The belief that the civic power of everyday Americans has been stolen or suppressed by political and economic elites has gained traction on both sides of the aisle. The Hauenstein Center welcomes civic evangelist and Citizen University CEO Eric Liu and acclaimed historian and author Dr. Victor Davis Hanson for a bipartisan discussion about the barriers to empowered citizenship and what we must do to overcome them.
UPDATE: Eric Liu will be joining us virtually for the evening discussion and the afternoon workshop is canceled.
The keynote event will start at 7 pm in the L.V. Eberhard Center (301 Fulton St W).
Please note: this evening keynote starts at 7 pm, which is an hour later than our normal start time of 6 pm.
