This presentation is a one hour webinar presentation with guest speaker, Michigan Foster President, Tiffany Kraker. The topic of this presentation is ‘Breaking the Cycle of Generational Trauma.’ This presentation will be virtual and take place through zoom. The zoom link will be provided to participants following their registration to the event. This event is organized by Master of Public Health Candidates, Allison Selner, Marissa Moore, Megan Kwantes, and Danielle DeHetre. Our grad student liaison for this presentation is Marissa Moore. Marissa can be contacted by email at [email protected]. This presentation will take place on Monday, March 21st, 2022 at 1:00pm. This presentation is expected to last approximately one hour. There will be time left at the conclusion of the presentation for questions and thoughts from participants. Participants will be encouraged to join us for this presentation to learn more about generational trauma and how families can create an environment that fosters resilience amongst a traumatic experience. Participants will learn tools to break generational trauma and traumatic experiences in order to create a better future for the future generations. Guest Speaker, Tiffany Kraker will guide us through the presentation with her insights on generational trauma through her position of working with Michigan Foster, and her own experience as a foster parent. Tiffany strives to educate others and create systemic change through reformation and relationships, which she will showcase to the participants through this presentation. 

  1. Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to explain what generational trauma is and how it can impact the health and life of individuals and populations.

  2. Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to analyze how trauma is passed through generations.

  3. Upon completion of the presentation, participants will be able to apply what they learned on how to break the mold of generational trauma.
