2021 Summer institute Day 1

Tuesday, August 3, 2021
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Off Campus
Community

The first day of Summer Institute will include a meet and greet with more than 20 Groundswell community partners. In the morning, teachers will work with these local organizations and each other to build partnerships and workshop project ideas. After a provided lunch, the afternoon will be spent studying phenology with Dr. Janet Vail from the Annis Water Research Institute.

Summer Institute is best experienced as a full three-day series. However, if attending all three workshops is not feasible, each day works as a stand-alone Professional Development (PD) and Groundswell still encourages teachers to attend.

Join us for this annual summer workshop series! The 2021 Summer Institute will provide a deep dive into place-based education and teaching through the local community. Teachers, community partners, and GVSU student teachers/assistants are all welcome. Don't miss this in person event at Palmer Park in Wyoming. Absorb new teaching techniques, make local connections, and take home our helpful teaching materials.
