Streamlyne

Streamlyne is the the powerful, web-based grants-and-contracts management system GVSU has adopted to support externally sponsored research and programmatic activity through the entire award lifecycle.

Beginning on May 1, 2019, all GVSU sponsored-programs proposals will be processed and supported in the Pre-Award Module of Streamlyne. We are sure you will have questions. We have tried to anticipate a few of them here, and will provide more details on our website very soon!

Why Streamlyne?

Streamlyne enables institutions to operate their research and sponsored projects enterprises more efficiently and effectively. We researched the wide range of software solutions available and the choice was clear: Streamlyne offered everything we needed, at a cost we could afford, with outstanding flexibility and customization.

Streamlyne will replace our dated patchwork of systems and eliminate duplicative data entry, reducing risk, error, and rework. What’s more, once all of the modules are implemented, we will have the ability to report in fine detail on all sponsored activity, including useful service metrics, with user-friendly dashboards and customized on-demand reports.

Streamlyne supports GVSU’s needs in the areas of proposal development and submission, workflow, compliance review, award management, and reporting. We are implementing Streamlyne in phases during 2019, as follows:

  1. Pre Award Module (ACTIVE May 1): Supports automated workflow, through flexible user-specific action lists; creation and routing of proposals, including special review, proposal budgets, and system-to-system (S2S) submission to Grants.gov; and post-submission activity, including just-in-time administration.
  2. Award Module (Est. Launch 8/1): Supports maintenance of funded projects from award notification to closeout.
  3. Sub Award (Est. Launch 8/1): Supports generation and management of outgoing subawards.
  4. Proposal Log (Est. Launch 8/1): Customized to support GVSU’s Funding Request Clearance process.
  5. Negotiations (Est. Launch 8/1): Supports contract development and management.
  6. Reporting (Est. Launch 8/1): Empowers timely and accurate custom reports and dashboards.

What about Cayuse?

Streamlyne will immediately replace Cayuse for all sponsored-programs proposals and submissions.

Work that falls under the scope of the Technology Commercialization Office (i.e., industry-sponsored agreements, non-governmental contracts, and unfunded agreements) will continue to be processed in Cayuse until the next phase of the Streamlyne implementation is completed in the coming months.

Funding Request Clearance activity will continue to be processed in Cayuse until we complete the implementation of the Proposal Log Module.
