What projects did you take part in during your internship?

The internship was at MSP forensic science department which has 7 units. There wasn't one specific project I did. I was part of each unit a week, rotating through different units. I did a lot of mock evidence and how they would analyze that evidence. For example: for the Trace unit, I analyzed a t-shirt with glass shards and compared those shards to a glass sample from a window to ses it comes from the same source. At the end of my internship, I did a capstone project presentation where I researched a criminal case where forensic science was a key role. I did mine on Caylee Anthony.

How did you get the internship?

I saw the internship listed on Handshake. I confirmed with many faculty and the internet if that was a legit internship. I applied for the internship through their website. I applied in the fall (Mid-November). I filled out a couple of papers, a background check and an agreement for an unpaid internship along with the application. I submitted 2 letters of recommendation, my resume, cover letter along with the papers. I got my interview call on January 2nd and started the internship in February.
