Educator Certification Instructions
Students who are applying for educator certification must have an MEIS account and initiate the application process by self-registering online in the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS). For instructions on how to create an MEIS account and apply for the certificate, go to michigan.gov/moecs.
Candidates should apply for their Standard Teaching Certificate at the beginning of the semester in which they expect to complete all requirements. They should also be certain that they have met all university requirements for graduation and certification. Upon completion of program requirements, candidates must initiate the process online through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS).
