EDS 417 - Introduction to Teaching Students with a Cognitive Impairment

This course explores instruction for students with a cognitive impairment. This includes prescribing materials appropriate for implementing a curricular framework, individualized supports, functional focus, lesson planning, and instructional techniques. Application of skills and tasks related to working with families, adaptive behavior instruction/assessment, and connecting data to action are included. Prerequisites: Declaration of special education major. Corequisites: EDS 471 and EDS 418.
