Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Dietetics

Program Requirements

Demonstration of completion of the 52 to 55 credits in the professional curriculum is required for the student to be granted the MS in Clinical Dietetics degree. General graduate academic policies and regulations can be found on The Graduate School website (gvsu.edu/gs).

In addition, for each Clinical Dietetics course or a discrete unit of instruction in the profession, a minimum proficiency level is described in each course syllabus. A minimum grade of 80 percent is required for passing all Clinical Dietetics courses; additionally, the student's overall grade point average (GPG) must never drop below the 3.0 minimum in any semester or the student may be placed on academic probation or dismissed from the Clinical Dietetics program.

Suggested Order of Coursework

Semester One

12 credits, 180 hours of supervised practice.

Semester Two

11 credits, 180 hours of supervised practice.

Semester Three

9/10 credits, 120 hours of supervised practice.

Semester Four

11/12 credits, 300 hours of supervised practice.

Semester Five

9/10 credits, 420 hours of supervised practice.

Total: 52-55 credits, 1200 hours of supervised practice (55) clinical experience: 1200 hours, including 180 optional international hours.
