Badge in Applied Business Sustainability
The badge in Applied Business Sustainability aims to build technical competence in business sustainability through the use of action-oriented experiential learning. This builds on the understanding and competencies with an understanding the purpose of business is to generate value, and that value both includes and spans beyond profitability. Thus, business can also function as a vehicle to also generate environmental, social, and community value. Students must fulfill the requirements of the Business Sustainability and Society Badge, as well as complete credits hours working on an applied business sustainability project. The badge provides students with applied learning experiences to deepen their learning in business sustainability.
All requirements of the Business Sustainability and Society Badge (15 credit hours, 5 courses listed below)
- ECO 201 - Introductory Microeconomics (3 credits)
- MGT 331 - Managing People and Organizations (3 credits)
- MGT 340 - Ethics and Business, Social Justice, and Sustainability (3 credits)
- ECO 345 - Environmental and Resource Economics (3 credits)
- BUS 490 - Business Internship (1 to 6 credits)
Since this badge is completely contained within the BBA, students can easily pursue without having to take any additional prerequisites. A task force made up of faculty from each unit within Seidman created this badge.
