STA 330 - Probability and Statistics for Computing

Introduction to probability and statistics using simulation and calculus. Topics will include: data types, sampling, descriptive statistics and graphs, discrete and continuous probability distributions, estimation, confidence intervals, t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square tests, regression and correlation. Theory will be motivated and applications will be explored using statistical software. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisites: C or better in (CIS 162 or CIS 161) and MTH 201.
