FRE 426 - French Literature Today

This course explores major movements and themes in 20th- and 21st-century French literature through representative works of poetry, theater, and the novel. Emphasis is placed on literary innovation, historical context, and cultural impact, with readings spanning from modernism to contemporary voices. Offered winter semester in odd-numbered years. Prerequisites: C or better in all core curriculum courses (FRE 315, FRE 317, and FRE 318) and either FRE 321, FRE 322, or FRE 323, or permission of instructor.
