FRE 423 - French Fables, Fairy Tales, and Farce

A study of key authors and texts from 17th-century French literature that examines how literary forms, such as fables, fairy tales, and farce, engaged with and challenged the political, religious, and cultural dynamics of the era. Offered winter semester. Prerequisites: C or better in all core curriculum courses (FRE 315, FRE 317, and FRE 318) and either FRE 321, FRE 322, or FRE 323, or permission of instructor.
