FRE 422 - Bold Humanism in French Literature
A study of major authors and texts of the French Renaissance, with attention to how 16th-century literature responded to sweeping cultural shifts, including humanism, religious conflict, and emerging ideas of selfhood. Offered fall semester. Prerequisites: C or better in all core curriculum courses (FRE 315, FRE 317, and FRE 318) and either FRE 321, FRE 322 or FRE 323, or permission of instructor.
