EGR 443 - Electromagnetic Compatibility

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronic systems. Topics include signal spectra, inductive coupling, capacitive coupling, common-impedance coupling, s-parameters, non-ideal circuit components, decoupling capacitors and embedded capacitance, signal integrity, EMC filters, common-mode and differential-mode currents and radiation, electromagnetic wave shielding, switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design and testing for conducted and radiated emissions. Dual-listed with EGR 543. Offered fall semester. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in EGR 343 and admitted to biomedical, electrical, or interdisciplinary engineering major.
