FRE 321 - Medieval Encounters and Big Ideas

A survey of French literature from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, exploring major texts and authors in relation to themes such as identity, power, faith, and love. The course examines how literature both reflected and influenced cultural and social change during this formative period. Offered winter semester in even-numbered years. Prerequisites: C or better in all core curriculum courses (FRE 315, FRE 317, and FRE 318) or permission of instructor.
