CIS 662 - Privacy & Security in Health Care
This course discusses privacy, security, and cybersecurity regulations in healthcare. Topics include data handling, risk assessments, disaster recovery, vulnerabilities, compliance, and emerging security technologies. Particular attention is specifically given to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH). Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisites: CIS 661 or CIS 665.
