BIO 205 - Genetics for K-8 Pre-Service Teachers

Concepts of heredity for pre-service teachers emphasizing human traits. Includes Mendelian and non-Mendelian transmission genetics, structure and replication of DNA, and protein synthesis. Course is intended for integrated science majors. Does not fulfill requirements for a biology major or minor. Content reflects national and Michigan science standards. (1-0-2) Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisites: BIO 120 (or both CMB 155 and CMB 156), BIO 121, and (MTH 110 or MTH 122 or MTH 201). CHM 109 or CHM 201 recommended.
