CFV 373 - Issues of Representation

This course investigates the representation of gender, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity, and class in contemporary cinema. It focuses on the role cinematic representation plays in the construction of identity and stereotypes, and ways in which film can also challenge conventional representations. Offered winter semester of odd-numbered years. Prerequisite: CFV 123.
