NUR 425 - Care of Clients with Chronic Conditions

Professional nurse roles of provider, coordinator of care, and member of a profession are examined. Emphasizes health maintenance and coping with long-term limitations in functional capacity across the lifespan. Refines skills in critical thinking, nursing interventions, and communication through classroom/clinical experiences with individuals and families dealing with chronic conditions (3-2-0-3) Numbers in parentheses indicate the number of classroom-seminar-skills laboratory-clinical laboratory hours per week. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite: NUR 410; NUR 435 (may be taken concurrently).
