RIS 322 - Radiation Protection Physics

The characteristics that allow radiation to be used successfully in the clinic can result in dangerous outcomes for patients, general public or radiation technologists. This course will familiarize students with the nature of ionizing radiation that allows it to be exploited for desired characteristics while minimizing potentially undesirable effects. Offered fall semester. Prerequisite: Admission to a radiologic and imaging sciences major or to the predosimetry emphasis program.
