PHY 605 - General Astronomy

A general study of astronomy. Historical overview, the solar system and its origin, formation, evolution and death of stars, galaxies, and some basic ideas about the origin and evolution of the universe. A laboratory component includes observations of the sky. (2-0-3) Offered spring/summer semester of even-numbered years. Prerequisites: PHY 220 and PHY 221 or equivalent.
