MTH 229 - Mathematical Activities for Secondary Teachers

In-depth study of mathematical content suitable to secondary classrooms. Integrated discussions of student's learning, pedagogy, secondary curricula, NCTM Standards, and relevant research. Service learning includes 20 hours of active classroom observations, including lesson design and implementation. Within the mathematics major or minor, applies only to secondary certification emphasis. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisites: MTH 201 or equivalent and sophomore standing.
