EAS 321 - Pre-modern Japanese Civilization (to 1600)

This course explores the major trends in Japanese civilization and culture from antiquity to the beginning of the Early Modern period in 1600. Readings will consist primarily of primary sources in English translation, and will include history, religion, philosophy, art, literature, and theatre. Crosslisted with JPN 321. Offered winter semester every third year.
