HNR 300 - Classical Mythology

Examines ancient Greek and Roman myths in their cultural and historical contexts. A variety of methods of interpreting myths are explored. Readings include myths that continue to influence modern literature and thought such as the Homeric Hymns, Hesiod's Theogony, and Ovid's Metamorphoses. Fulfills Foundations - Philosophy and Literature. Fulfills Cultures - World Perspectives. Offered fall semester in odd-numbered years.
