HNR 254 - African Civilization I

This course surveys the history of African civilizations to the nineteenth century. It will concentrate on the political, economic, cultural, and social development of specific African societies before European conquest of the continent. The course will be more thematic than chronological. This course must be taken concurrently with HNR 255. Fulfills Foundations - Historical Perspectives. Offered fall semester. Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Honors College and corequisite HNR 255.
