HST 370 - History of Medicine and Health

Interdisciplinary exploration of the diverse ways that western societies from Ancient Greece to the modern era have defined health and disease, provided health care, managed the environment, and sought to prevent illness. Examines the strengths and limits of past solutions to health questions and their applicability to modern society. Part of the Health Issue. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisite: Junior Standing.
