Greek history during the Archaic and Classical Periods. Emphasis on the development of historical writing in the Greek World, a critical examination of ancient and modern historiography, and significant aspects of Greek political and social history. Offered fall semester of odd-numbered years. Prerequisite: Completion of Historical Perspectives Foundation.
